Tenney, Rynders and Edwards Receive (AMP™) Accurate Mapping Probe Pipeline Mapping System Certification

Director of Operations, Aaron Tenney and Engineers, John Rynders and Zach Edwards completed the (AMP™) Accurate Mapping Probe Pipeline Mapping System Training Program facilitated by CUES Mapping Services.

The CUES Accurate Mapping Probe (AMP™) provides precise and efficient 3D location of any underground pipeline asset quickly and easily, including wastewater, utilities and directional drilled lines. AMP’s accurate data can be used for as-built drawing verification and defect locating including pipe sags, misaligned joints, horizontal and vertical design problems and hydraulic modeling. Course Description: NASSCO’s Inspector Training and Certification Program (ITCP) is a standard national training and certification program that provides field construction professionals (i.e. consulting and municipal engineers, contractors) with comprehensive learning and tools to understand and inspect trenchless pipeline renewal technology.

Attendees who successfully complete the training will receive 1.35 Continuing Education Units and a certificate. They will also get a copy of the Trenchless Assessment Guide for Rehabilitation (TAG-R), an interactive software program that will allow the engineer and inspector to select applicable technologies for different project conditions.

Trainer Bio: David Reaves is a two-time graduate of Old Dominion University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering (1992) and a Master of Science Degree (1994) with a concentration in Engineering Management. David is a certified trainer for NASSCO and can teach classes for Pipeline Assessment Certification (PACP), Lateral Certification Assessment (LACP), Manhole Certification Assessment (MACP), and Inspector Training and Certification (ITCP) for Trenchless Rehabilitation. David also teaches classes at the college level for civil engineering as time allows and is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE).

David has twenty-seven (27) years of sanitary sewer related experience. David started his career as the Regional Wastewater Commodity Manager for the Navy in the Hampton Roads area. After five (5) years and over 50 million dollars worth of completed construction, David took a job as Wastewater Operations Manager for the City of Hampton. Over the course of the next five (5) years, David doubled the number of people and the budget for sanitary sewer repairs while doing all work in-house at rates less than or comparable to contractors. David managed a sanitary sewer system that generated over 10 million gallons per day from 150,000 residents. As owner of Prism Contractors & Engineers, Inc., David has successfully managed the cleaning and television inspection of over 3 million feet of sanitary sewer pipe.

Prism Contractors & Engineers, Inc. is seeking an experienced Boiler Operator for CIPP Lining.

Prism Contractors & Engineers, Inc. is a leading provider of cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) and other technologies and services for the rehabilitation of pipeline systems. Prism’s technologies allow its customers to avoid the extraordinary expense and extreme disruption that can result from traditional “dig and replace” methods.

  • The Boiler Operator will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the boiler/boiler truck used for various pipe lining installation methods.
  • Identify the proper curing method for each project and follow the appropriate curing schedule.
  • Learn the products, processes, safety procedures, installation techniques and use of equipment.
  • Drive various vehicles (pickups to tractor-trailer rigs) to haul crews and equipment.
  • Perform all work safely and effectively while operating the boiler unit.
  • Ensure proper handling of all materials.
  • Other tasks, as assigned.

 Physical Requirements:

  • Walk, stand, climb, balance, stoop, crouch, bend, reach, kneel, crawl and stretch
  • Use of hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; talk and hear without visual cues.
  • Ability to lift, push and pull up to 75 lbs.
  • Ability to wear respirator and body harness while entering confined spaces.


  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Class A or B CDL with ability to obtain Hazmat preferred.
  • 2+ years’ experience working in an outdoor construction environment, preferably with CIPP or water or sewer utilities.
  • Must be able to work in confined spaces.
  • Must be able to travel.
  • Ability to work overtime, nights, and weekends based on business needs.
  • Must have clean driving record.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a drug test.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to listen and comprehend instructions accurately to learn the products, processes, safety procedures, installation techniques and equipment use.
  • Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
