Trainer Bio: David Reaves is a two-time graduate of Old Dominion University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering (1992) and a Master of Science Degree (1994) with a concentration in Engineering Management. David is a certified trainer for NASSCO and can teach classes for Pipeline Assessment Certification (PACP), Lateral Certification Assessment (LACP), Manhole Certification Assessment (MACP), and Inspector Training and Certification (ITCP) for Trenchless Rehabilitation. David also teaches classes at the college level for civil engineering as time allows and is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE).
David has twenty-seven (27) years of sanitary sewer related experience. David started his career as the Regional Wastewater Commodity Manager for the Navy in the Hampton Roads area. After five (5) years and over 50 million dollars worth of completed construction, David took a job as Wastewater Operations Manager for the City of Hampton. Over the course of the next five (5) years, David doubled the number of people and the budget for sanitary sewer repairs while doing all work in-house at rates less than or comparable to contractors. David managed a sanitary sewer system that generated over 10 million gallons per day from 150,000 residents. As owner of Prism Contractors & Engineers, Inc., David has successfully managed the cleaning and television inspection of over 3 million feet of sanitary sewer pipe.

Prism has once again been awarded the James City County Annual CCTV Inspection of Gravity Sanitary Sewer Pipes. The work will primarily consist of light cleaning and closed circuit internal television inspection of 8-12 inch gravity sanitary sewer pipelines.
This contract is effective from July 1, 2019 – June 30, 2021.

Course Description: The NASSCO PACP training course provides a thorough introduction to the PACP coding procedures, as well as an opportunity for students to ask questions and clarify various aspects of the program. PACP coding procedures are reviewed, and the student must demonstrate an understanding of the contents through the successful completion of a certification examination.

Prism is excited to announce our new Trenchless Rehab Technician Apprenticeship Program. Our Apprenticeship Program is a two-year program which is recognized through the Virginia Department of Labor and Industry. Candidates will learn all aspects of the Trenchless Rehab field to include the following:
Along with learning specifics of the Trenchless Rehab trade, candidates will learn several other skills to work within the industry, such as Fundamentals of Project Management, Effective Oral and Written Communication and Finances and Accounting.

Prism was awarded the Cape Fear Country Club & Large Diameter Sewer CCTV & Lining Project. Work includes cleaning, CCTV inspecting and the installation of approximately 2,000 LF of 8″, 1,480 LF of 10″, 1,160 LF of 12″, 500 LF of 15″ and 860 LF of 24″ UV CIPP liner in gravity sanitary sewer systems. Work also includes bypass pumping, point-repairs and manhole rehab. This is the second contract Cape Fear Public Utility Authority has awarded to Prism. The previous contract included 6 Inch Main Rehabilitation.
