Prism Awarded Chesterfield County Manhole Rehab Contract

Prism Contractors & Engineers, Inc., was awarded a manhole rehabilitation contract for Chesterfield County.  The purpose of this contract is to reduce the potential for rain and ground water infiltration and inflow into the existing sewer system. Chesterfield County operates a sanitary sewer collection system, not a combined sewer system, so the exclusion of rainwater and groundwater is important to the County.

This work will include NASSCO inspection, assessment and documentation of designated manholes, application of flexible sealing material over the chimney section of specific manholes and installation of pan inserts to eliminate rainwater and groundwater intrusion into manholes.

Chesterfield County is located near the state capital of Richmond in the Commonwealth of Virginia.  As of the 2010 census, the population was 316,236, making it the third-most populous county in Virginia.
